10/7/26: Good news for Barkov (FLA) & Fiala (LAK) on the NHL injury front

Florida’s #1 center Sasha Barkov sustained a left knee injury in a recent game versus San Jose, but won’t require surgery. However, Barkov will miss the next 6-8 weeks of game time as he rehabs the knee, a huge relief amid fears that the injury was a repeat of last year’s right-knee ligament tears causing him to miss the entire 2025-26 season due to reconstructive surgery.

With respect to Kings’ top-6 winger Kevin Fiala, he suffered multiple fractures to his left leg this past February during the Olympics, resulting in multiple surgeries to repair the damage. He is now skating on his own, and plans to return to the Kings’ lineup on November 1.
