Minnesota’s 24-year-old top-pair blueliner Brock Faber was hit near his left ear via a deflected slapshot during Friday’s preseason game against Dallas, leading to successful surgery on Sunday. General Manager Bill Guerin shared that Faber is doing very well, and stressed the team’s focus is on his health over hockey as they closely follow the guidance of his treating physicians. Last season’s standout had 15 goals and 51 points for the Wild, to go along with a 2026 Olympic gold medal.
There is no set timeline for Faber’s return, and in the meanwhile rookie d-man David Spacek initially will fill the roster spot due to his absence.
