My rating of Vegas’ top 10 prospects is complete, the link to which can be found below. The Golden Knights’ top prospect for the second consecutive season is forward Trevor Connelly, who is projected to arrive in Vegas this season following a highly productive rookie season in Henderson (49 points in 46 games on 14 goals and 35 assists). A player not present on my list is d-man Lukas Cormier (68th overall in 2020), who does appear as a top-10 prospect in some rankings, including my own last season. However, because he is 24 years of age and projects as a player on call-up duty to fill in when injuries occur, I chose to exclude him in favor of players with a bit higher trajectory in the pipeline.
Vegas is renowned for trading away developing assets in order to remain competitive in the present day. It is difficult to argue with its results, as the Golden Knights have made three finals appearances in its nine-year existence, with one Stanley Cup (2023 versus FLA) to its credit. Having said that, the Golden Knights do have a handful of impressive prospects in their pool. Along with Connelly, forwards Kai Uchacz (2025 Free Agent Signing) and Matyas Sapovaliv (48th overall in 2022) also are projected to start in Henderson prior to moving to the big club this season. Sapovaliv projects as a top face-off man and net-front power-play presence, while Uchacz looks to bring high energy and two-way capabilities to the Golden Knights’ forward group.
Vegas also possesses a pair of exceptional goaltending prospects in its pipeline. Following a season in which he posted 25 wins and a .926 save percentage in the AHL, goaltender Carl Lindbom (222nd overall in 2021) is expected to receive significant minutes between the pipes in Vegas this season. 6’7″ netminder Pavel Moysevich (83rd overall), featuring a calm and structurally sound game while filling tons of space with his size, will begin his first professional North American campaign in Henderson in 2026-27.
Vegas also scored big in the 2026 draft with its selection of d-man Juho Piiparinen (29th overall), viewed by many as the best defensive d-man in the draft. With his combination of size, fluid skating, puck-moving abilities under pressure, and incredibly high hockey IQ, he has top-four D pairing written all over him. He is playing for Tappara in Finland’s highest professional league this season, and is projected to land in Vegas for the 2028-29 season.
