My ranking of the top 10 Winnipeg Jets prospects is complete, the link to which is below. Forward and 2026 first-round pick (8th overall) Viggo Bjorck is the top prospect for the Jets, and stands an excellent chance of earning a roster spot with the big club right out of training camp. Bjorck is projected either to be slotted into a middle-six role or be the team’s new second-line center.
Bjorck is one of four Swedes in Winnipeg’s top 10 prospects, and 3 of its top 4. The other two Swedes in the top four are d-men Sascha Boumedienne (28th overall in 2025 / #3) and Elias Salomonsson (55th overall in 2022 / #4), who are in different stages of their development. Salomonsson is projected to arrive in Winnipeg this season, while Boumedienne will spend one more season in the NCAA prior to joining the Jets in 2027-28 (he is transferring to Ohio State University this year after spending 2025-26 at Boston University).
Likewise, Canada has 4 prospects in Winnipeg’s top 10, one of whom is forward Brad Lambert (who has dual citizenship with Canada & Finland). Ranked #2 right behind Bjorck, he also is expected to be in Winnipeg full-time this season.
With respect to #5 prospect Brayden Yager, the right-shot forward projects to arrive in Winnipeg in 2027-28. However, multiple reports indicate he will challenge for a Jets’ roster spot this season right out of training camp.
