The Boston College Eagles got a hat trick from forward Dean Letourneau (25th overall in 2024 by BOS) and two goals each from forwards Oscar Hemming (14th overall in 2026 by CBJ) and Teddy Muryn (95th overall in 2025 by SJS) to defeat the United States National Team Development Program U18’s (USNTDP) 10-1 in exhibition action on Saturday. BC’s victory comes a night after suffering a 5-2 loss to Michigan State University in East Lansing. Because these are exhibition games, the contests are not reflected in the team’s regular-season record, and thus do not impact the manner in which they are rated per college hockey’s points system.
It has been a highly productive beginning to Hemming’s sophomore season for the Eagles in his sophomore year, totaling four points (2G 2A) in BC’s two exhibition games. The same can be said of Letourneau, who is following up an excellent 39-point sophomore season as the running mate for current Boston Bruins’ forward James Hagens (7th overall in 2025 by BOS). Letourneau and Hagens most likely will be reunited soon, as the Bruins’ prospect is expected to turn pro at the conclusion of the Eagles’ season.
The USNTDP will continue with its College Series next Friday against Colorado College. They also will face the University of Denver, Long Island University & Army West Point this month, after already playing two games in the six-game set (they lost to Notre Dame 4-2 on Friday night).
