Attached below is the link to the recent signings occurring in the NHL. Among other deals, d-man Alexander Nikishin at least temporarily relented on his contract demands (he was seeking a deal in the neighborhood of $8 million plus per season) by signing for one year with Carolina at $3 million. This contract gives Nikishin the flexibility to receive an offer sheet from another club this coming off-season, where the possibility exists he will secure a deal in his price range. The deal also provides the Canes with a solid d-man in its lineup this year, where it can determine for itself Nikishin’sm future value.
In other news, Utah inked d-man prospect Artyom Duda to a two-year extension valued at $925,000 per annum, and commencing in 2027-28. A recent call-up to the Mammoth, at the time Duda was tied for the lead AHL Tucson’s D corps with 3 points, and was its plus/minus leader with a +6 rating. He is considered by many to be a top-tier prospect in Utah’s system, although he has yet to see any action with the Mammoth since his promotion.
Also, Boston signed promising 24-year-old winger Marat Khusnutdinov to a three-year extension valued at $3.95 million per annum, likewise commencing in 2027-28. The Bruins’ forward is on pace to score over 20 goals and to record over 40 points this season, and has significantly improved his production during each of his 3-plus seasons in the league.
